off topic: misc Norway 1

photo from U´s MR room album above.

View from one of the many local islands, of other local islands and skerries.
View of one of the local cafes I like to go to. It has a floating dock, which has live music some times, or when the weather is nice you can lay out on the dock, or swim in the water with the fish. The building itself is an old warehouse

Typical breakfast at another local cafe below. Fresh brewed coffee with cream and a splash of milk. Ice water, orange juice (not shown) and an open-faced sandwich with ham, cheese, raw veggies and salad.

View below of center of town, surrounded by local mountains, as is everywhere you are in town. Easy to get up to the mountain for hikes and walks, or to enjoy the views.

Ode to a recent wt question of who eats their food with a knife and fork. I took a photo of us having lunch at a local bar restaurant...most people here use a knife and fork to eat most foods, even what might be considered something for hands,). I´ve gotten used to not using my hands to eat cheeseburgers now too:).

View of our island, and the grassy area is where you can walk down to swim in the open sea

Two other views of the same shot, of walk down swim in the sea place.

Below, my Southern fried chicken, homemade macaroni and cheese, sour cream corn bread, black-eyed peas and turnip greens.

Quick video of the snow

Quick video of la little bit of the local bus and train station

Quick video of simple Norwegian lesson

Typical Norwegian waffle, with jam, melted butter. I also put sour cream on that, but forgot to take a photo of that. Drinking hot apple juice gløgg with that.
The waffle, gløgg and the video below was a typical weekend day in the city, with free food and free live music all over the main center of the city. Below is one of the live bands, playing Salsa. Many people, adults, couples, children are gathered round singing and dancing salsa to the music. They also had live rap music, opera, violin and classical music etc, which everyone also enjoyed.

Typical wooden homes and colors here, just a very few of the typical bright or dark colors.

Enjoying afternoon cappuccino in Italy, just I do in Norway, w local papers to read

My bus stop in Norway

Working on some quilt blocks, and sewing some Easter gifts for the kids

Sweeping off porch, and baking breads, making butter and jam below....

Tiniest bathroom, with skull soaps, toys and photos of us, heated tile floor typical here, modern mixed with old. My Taos ladder which I use to dry towels....shower behind that. Very compact narrow galley style bathroom, with stone walls, and painted wooden plank ceiling.
